After successfully holding the Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi editions, One Team One Dream (OTOD) is giving final touches to their preparations in conducting the 4th R2MI Kreeda-OTOD Senior Hockey Carnival (40+) at Hyderabad on December 10 and 11 from 1 pm to 5 pm (both days). As many as eight teams are taking part in the fourth edition of the Seniors Hockey Carnival at Hyderabad. The tournament has been designed to promote the sport with a ‘high fun quotient’, bring back former players to the game and popularise it among the youngsters.
Several Olympians and internationals such as Ajit Pal Singh, Mukesh Kumar and Edward Aloysius are expected to grace the tournament. The format of the tournament is also interesting. Each team comprises 10 players, including one goalkeeper and one player-cum-manager. Each match was played for a total duration of 20 minutes, with a half-time break of 3 minutes at the end of 10 minutes. OTOD has chalked up plans to host such a Seniors Hockey Carnival in different hockey-loving cities such as Chandigarh and Lucknow among others. The 4th Seniors Hockey Carnival is being sponsored by Bengaluru-based start-up R2MI Kreeda. “We really appreciate R2MI Kreeda coming forward to sponsor this event – they are committed to support all our Seniors Hockey Carnival events,” says OTOD Secretary Leo Devadoss.
“The Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi editions have been a phenomenal success and OTOD is excited about taking Seniors Hockey Carnival forward with the Hyderabad leg. Our objective is to get our former internationals and Olympians together. This event is much more than just a 40-plus tournament as it is an enabler for former players to meet on one platform and exchange memories. We look forward to some good competition, nostalgia and camaraderie,” added Devadoss.
It may be worth recalling that One Team One Dream had successfully hosted the third edition at New Delhi i September 2022, 2nd edition at Bengaluru in May 2022 and the inaugural edition at Mumbai in October 2021.
