Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, staged a fine come-from-behind 3-1 win over Punjabi University Patiala to romp into the semifinals of the the SNBP 28th Nehru All-India Inter-University Hockey Tournament (Inter-Zonal Final) at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri, Pune. The Phagwara varsity lad exuded a great deal of tenacity to score three times after they were forced to do the catching-up after Michael Topno put Punjabi University Patiala ahead in the second quarter.

Lovely Professional University, Phagwara will now cross swords with Sambalpur University, Sambalpur – the Odisha lads eased past Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar by an identical 3-1 margin. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal (VBSP) University, Jaunpur will face Savitribai Phule Pune University in the other semifinal.
