Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Statistical Rewind: India vs South Korea

After the tournament opener mauling of Thailand, Indian women’s hockey team would have their tails up when they take on South Korea. India have played South Korea in five encounters in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy – winning once, drawing once, and losing thrice.

India first locked horns with the Koreans in the inaugural edition at Busan in 2010, where they lost 3-5. Indian women again went down tamely 1-4 in the 2011 edition at Ordos. It took the 4th edition for Indian eves to rack up their first win over South Korea with a 2-1 margin at Singapore in 2016. At the 2018 edition in Donghae, India drew South Korea 1-1 in the league phase and subsequently endured a hard-fought 0-1 loss in the final.
