Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Statistical Rewind: India vs Malaysia
India would be teeming with confidence when they take on Malaysia after literally a stroll in the park following their 13-0 annihilation of Thailand in the 6th Women’s Asian Champions Trophy being played at Donghae, South Korea.
This is India’s fourth meet-up with Malaysia in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy. India have won all their three previous encounters against Malaysia. India first squared up against Malaysia in the 2013 edition at Kakamigahara where they won 5-1. Interestingly, two members of the current Indian side – Vandana Katariya and Deep Grace Ekka had scored once in that 5-1 win eight years back.
India eased past Malaysia 2-0 in the 2016 edition at Singapore – the Indian girls had to fight hard to put it across the Malaysians in the 2018 edition at Donghae, where they 3-2. Gurjit Kaur, Lalremsiami and Vandana Katariya had scored for the Indian eves.
Any big win in the first match of the tourney is a great thing and Indian eves would be looking to maintain their winning tempo against Malaysia.
