About Hockey Passion

India men’s team enjoys a rich legacy in hockey – the haul of 12 Olympic gold medals (8 gold, 1 silver, & 3 bronze medals), 3 World Cup medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) 15 Asian Games medals (3 gold, 9 silver, 3 bronze medals), 2 Commonwealth Games medals (2 silver medals) bears testimony to how the national team towered has over the sports over many decades ever since it made its Olympic debut in the 1928 edition at Amsterdam. Six gold medals win on the trot (1928-1956) underpin our dominance. The country’s dominance steadily dipped from the late sixties, with the national side often settling finishes outside the top 6. Indian hockey received a much-needed shot in the arm with the national men’s team bagging an Olympic bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics after a hiatus of 41 years. Even our women’s team made everyone sit up and take notice of with a creditable 4th place finish at Tokyo.

We at Hockey Passion, powered by Ardour Digital Publishing Consultants, desire to go beyond the cauldron of news and remain committed to uncovering untold stories, come up with perspectives that deserve attention, trace many fond memories of Indian hockey, carry out number crunching besides covering hockey that makes it an interesting reading. We intend to encompass anything concerning hockey.

We hope our hockey buffs will enjoy what is offered on Hockey Passion!
