Much-Needed HIL Boost for Ace Great Britain Player Nicholas Bandurak!
Great Britain and England men’s hockey star Nicholas Bandurak recently grabbed the hockey news landscape for his ‘unfortunate exit’ from England-based club Holcombe. Cleary, his club hockey career needed a boost and he received one in the form of the revived 6th Hockey India League.

The talented drag-flicking forward has been snapped up by Vedanta Kalinga Lancers for Rs 5 lakhs for the 2024-2025 season. Of course, the ace Great Britain player was expected to trigger intense bidding among franchises but much to the surprise of many, that did not happen. The price at which he was bought by the Odisha franchise has turned out to be a surprise. As they say ‘something is better than nothing’ Bandurak would be relatively happy to be part of the 6th Hockey India League.
Bandurak would be expected to share drag-flicking responsibilities alongside Belgium’s Alexander Hendrickx – considered one of the best in the business and young Indian Sanjay.

The Great Britain and England forward would also have the opportunity to play alongside Netherlands’ Thierry Brinkman – touted as one of the best forwards in the world and would be keen to generate goal-creating or goal-scoring opportunities in collaboration with young Indians such as Gursahibjit Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Boby Singh Dhami, and Angad Bir Singh.

Not many know that Bandurak as 20-year-old had made his junior England debut in India – New Delhi to be precise during the 2013 Junior World Cup- subsequently he slogged his way to break into the Great Britain and England after nine years.
