Domestic Hockey Action Begins with Mumbai Hockey Championship 2022!

Big-time domestic hockey in Mumbai got activated with the Mumbai Hockey Association Limited organising the Mumbai Hockey Championship 2022 at the MHA Stadium in Mumbai. The tournament marks the revival of domestic hockey in Mumbai after a two-year gap owing to Covid-19.

A high dose of hockey action is expected from the nine-day tournament that will conclude on May 23. The tournament will be played on a round-robin format with the top two teams featuring in the summit clash on May 23. As many as six teams – Central Railway, Republicans Sports Club, Champions Training Centre (CTC), Mumbai Customs, Union Bank of Mumbai and Abhi Foundation will slug it out for top honours.

Champions Training Centre made a whirlwind start to their campaign, walloping Republicans Sports Club 7-0 while Union Bank of Mumbai sneaked past Abhi Foundation 6-4.
