Harendra Singh’s Win Loss Record as Indian Women’s Team Coach
Expectations would be sky-high from coach Harendra Singh as the Indian women’s hockey team would strive to put their best forward in the 9th Women Asian Champions Trophy at Rajgir, India. It may be worth recalling that Harendra had served as the national women’s team coach from September 2017 to April 2018, taking over the coaching mantle from Dutchman Sjoerd Marijne and subsequently relinquishing the job to him again after he was installed as the national men’s team coach in mid-2018.
During his first stint as Indian women’s team coach, Harendra guided the team to glory at the 2017 Asia Cup at Kakamigahara, out-duelling China 5-4 in a shootout after both teams were locked 1-1 in regulation time. Under Harendra, the national eves had embarked on a tour of South Korea in March 2018 where they won the Five Test series 3-1 at the Jincheon National Training Center, about 90 minutes drive from Seoul.

The former India fullback-turned national coach took charge midway through the 2023-24 Pro League during the Europe legs at Antwerp and London, where the team lost all their eight games, including a 0-5 humiliation at the hands of Argentina.
