India Posts Biggest Win of Women’s Asian Champions Trophy:
India’s opening match win against Thailand in the 6th Women’s Asian Champions Trophy attaches a lot of significance from a statistical standpoint. The Indian eves’ 13-0 walloping of Thailand is not just their biggest win of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy but is also the biggest win of the tournament beating the previous record of China beating India 6-1 in the inaugural 2010 edition. India women team’s previous big win in the tournament was their 5-1 win over Malaysia in the 2013 edition held at Kakamigahara.
Fullback Gurjit Kaur’s superb hat-trick in the five-goal blitz against Thailand is only the second hat-trick of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy – India’s Navneet Kaur scored the first hat-trick of Women’s Asian Champions Trophy against Japan in the 2018 edition.
