1st Chhaju Ram Memorial Hockey: Services, PNB Storm into Semifinals
Services secured their semifinal spot in the 1st Chhaju Ram Memorial Hockey Tournament thumping Central Railway 7-1 at the Government Boys Senior Secondary School School Astroturf, Ghumanhera at Najafgarh near Delhi. The Services outfit was dominant from the starting hooter and turned their league encounter into a no-contest and will face Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) in the semifinals – MHPA got the better of Central Secretariat 3-1 to make it to the last-four stage.

Meanwhile, Punjab National Bank crushed South Central Railway 6-1 to reach the semifinals – they will now lock horns with Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) in the last-four stage. The 1st Chhaju Ram Memorial Hockey Tournament will have a rest day on Tuesday and both the semifinals will be played on December 8 (Wednesday) and the final slated for December 9 (Thursday).
The five-day tournament is being organized by Matiala MLA Gulab Singh. The winners of the 1st Chhaju Ram Memorial Hockey Tournament will take home a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh while the runners-up team will receive a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh. The third-placed and fourth-placed teams will pocket cash prizes of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh respectively.
